About The Chesapeake Humane Society
Founded in 1972, Chesapeake Humane Society is a non-profit organization that is managed by volunteers and funded by private donors – it does not receive government subsidies. The Society supports the homeless animals of Chesapeake in the following ways:

• Provides low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services
• Provides financial assistance to shelter animals in immediate medical need
• Serves on the Chesapeake Animal Control Advisory Board
• Lends countless volunteer hours to enhance the lives of shelter pets
• Runs a media program that advertises adoptable pets
• Hosts off-site adoption events to advertise adoptable pets
• Makes an annual financial gift to Chesapeake Animal Control
